How the Beer BAC Calculator Works

This calculator converts your beer consumption into standard drinks using the Widmark formula. Each beer is converted based on its size (in ounces) and ABV% to calculate the total pure alcohol consumed.

For example, a standard 12 oz beer at 5% ABV contains 0.6 oz of pure alcohol — exactly one standard drink. A 16 oz pint of IPA at 6.5% ABV contains about 1.04 oz of pure alcohol — nearly two standard drinks.

Your body eliminates alcohol at about 0.015% BAC per hour. The calculator accounts for your weight, biological sex, and time elapsed to give you an accurate BAC estimate.
